Jewel Lab, the Tuesday night milonga, is now the only place in Sydney where you can dance tango to new and alternative music.

People are asking me to take this responsibility more seriously and ditch the traditional music. "Don't try to be like everyone else. There are so many milongas to dance to traditional music. You're the only organizer willing to play new music, so do it!"

I feel torn. I don't want to run a milonga where any tanguero will walk in the door and feel uncomfortable.

At the same time I recognize that if we are to bring a new generation into tango, we need to play more accessible music. I need your sparkling insight about the direction we should take.
