About Carlos:
Carlos dances traditional Argentine Tango, which he learned as a child from his parents and grandparents. He was born in Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires) where he studied acting, tap, ballet and tango. His most influential Argentine Tango teachers were Olga Besio and Raul Bravo.
Carlos specializes in teaching traditional Argentine Tango to both couples and individuals, and has taught for more than 30 years in Argentina, Latin America, Europe, Australia, USA, Asia and South Africa. He teaches both group and private lessons, including ladies’ and mens’ technique classes.
In Buenos Aires, Carlos taught group classes at the well respected Escuela Argentina de Tango and at many of the most famous milongas, including Gricel and Viejo Correo. He moved to Sydney in 2015 and teaches group and private lessons in his own school, Costes Tango Argentino.

Tango Spirit Beginners Levels 1 & 2 - Thursdays 7.00-8.00pm
This class is suitable for Beginners Levels 1 & 2 or those wishing to perfect their dance.
Tango Spirit will teach the fundamentals starting with rhythm, walk, lead and following technique
and linking basic patterns with an emphasis on the connection and musicality.

Classes: casual class $25, 6 prepaid classes $120 which can be used within 3 months. Tango Spirit beginner’s classes are on every Monday and Tuesday 6:30pm and Thursday’s at 7pm and followed by an intermediate class.
You can alternate days as we cover the same topic.

You can attend with or without a partner.
No experience needed.

Patio de Tango Intermediate/Advanced Classes Intermediate/Advanced continuous 10 week modules. Expands on movements introduced, plus covers Lapis, Enrosques, Slow Tango, Giros with Shared Axis and in close embrace, Musicality of different Orchestras, Tango Ritmico & Melodico - each course has a different and distinct theme (can be repeated for more skills and experience). Milonga Traspie, & Vals Cruzado workshops are run in term breaks.
Limited to 15 Leaders and 15 Followers. Prerequisite for entry completion of full curriculum of Patio de Tango previous levels of five week courses; AND assessment by private lesson.
Rate for 5 workshops: $125 includes free entry to Milonga after class 8.45pm - 11.30pm.
*Prepay for 10 classes for discount price $220 including entry to Milonga (saving of $80 on casual rates).

Patio de Tango Levels Guide:
Level 1 -10 weeks - Intro to Tango/Beginners- those who have never tried tango or want to refresh skill
Level 2- 30 weeks - Intermediate - those who have completed Level 1 at Patio de Tango or the equivalent Level 3 - 40 weeks - Int/Advanced which can be repeated for more skills and experience - those who have completed Levels 1 & 2 and have had private assessment. |
